"Cheat Meals" are stupid
I've written before about the fact that I used to be the Usain Bold of Cheat Meals. I would smash a buffet, wolf down boxes of cereal and fill up a whole shopping cart of crap to eat in one day!
All this with the justification that I was "boosting my metabolism" - when the reality was I was undoing all of my hard work whilst simultaneously wrecking my relationship with food.
It didn't get rid of any cravings, it made me want them more.
I would get a taste for crappy food, which made my regular food during the week way more boring by comparison, and all about looking forward to the one day I got to break that routine.
On top of this, I was getting NOWHERE in terms of fat loss, which meant my solution was to just be stricter in the week - I mean, I couldn't cut out my cheat day... it's the only day I had any enjoyment from food. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Clearly, there is a better way to go about things.
Ease up on yourself during the week, don't allow yourself to feel overly deprived.
Once you understand how nutrition really works (maybe by seeing the link in my profile), you should understand the damage cheat meals really can do. You understand what becomes worth the calories and what doesn't.
Or whatever, the Rock has cheat days, and he looks awesome, so you must have cheat days and then you'll look like him!
