She stared at the mountain of green in front of her, as she held on to the wooden rail of the lodge balcony. She took a deep breath, closing her eyes for a second, and then opening them again, texting her teenage daughter that she loved her. As the sun had set, and the forest was pitch black, she walked back in. As she entered the kitchen, she noticed the lights weren't working. Staying silent, she felt someone grab her hair and thrust her backwards. "How stupid are you", her husband threw her on the cold floor. "Out of all the places you chose to hide, you chose a lodge in the middle of nowhere", he laughed. She got up and ran. "You can't keep running from me", he ran after her. He entered the living room and saw the balcony door open, but she was nowhere to be found.
The silence in the air, as his eyes searched the area. She came from behind him, and knocked him with a lamp over his head. She tried to make a run for it, as he grabbed her legs, causing her to fall. His head bleeding, he pulled her to the balcony. "You can't take me on sweetie, I'm a man, you're a woman, you are no match for me", he lifted her up and slapped her. As she touched the blood from her lip, he smiled. "Nobody can hear you scream here, and you'll never see our daughter again", he smirked. In that moment, something took over her, as there was nothing stronger than a mothers love for her child. She yelled, rushing towards him and pushing him, causing him to trip and fall off the balcony. He was right. Nobody heard him scream. End scene.
