Most of the temples got commercialized, the devotion with which you travel turns in to a frustration. Either u jostle in the long q with some impatient people or pay extra money and do a VIP darshan. Whole purpose gets diluted at such holy places.
Sharing an experience from my recent visit to Guwahati where I happened to visit one temple at 7 am sharp so I can finish early morning and get back to my work. The security informed that it will take 1-2 hours to open the gate. I had to pass my time somehow, the cab driver took me to an ancient temple which was 6-7 kms away. It was more than 600 years old temple and stands in a pretty spot that marks the confluence of three streams, with a waterfall and groves of trees around it. It is said to be site of the Ashram of sage Vashishtha (a character in Ramayana). It had a small temple of Lord Shiva inside it, am standing on the staircase of that temple and had a peaceful darshan. I went back to that earlier temple on my way back and stood in a queue almost 3rd or 4th in no. to do darshan. Suddenly, few people appeared and we were asked to step back as they took the VIP pass and got the privilege to do darshan first and that too for a longer time than others. Its very disappointing and annoying sometimes, and thats happening everywhere be it Siddhivinayak, Shirdi or wherever u go.
The saree am wearing is from Aurangabad local market, the design which looks like a block print is not really a block print. Its absolutely a paper light saree. Can someone make a guess about this weave?
