Motichoor Laddoo, Singla's, Dwarka, Delhi.
A symbolic start to another shaadi week with what else, but ghee laden sweets. In any North Indian shaadi ka ghar, a optimum supply of sweets is a must.
Whether it's the guests coming over to one's house, bhog to the Lord before starting any auspicious activity, or simply as a post meal dessert for the family, a wide variety of mithai always come to the rescue.
Mithai in a shaadi house is also a Zero sum game. There are so many incoming and outgoing dabbas floating around the place, it isn't a surprise if a family member is served/return gifted the very same mithai they gave. Not that anyone minds mithai in any form ;) The motichoor Laddoo though, is my all time favorite (probably in a tie with Patisa). The guys over at Singla have done a decent job with these, not at the Old Delhi levels, but pretty good for a quick, last minute buy.
Soft miniature Boondi with a hint of Cardamom and saffron along with that trademark coating of ghee in your mouth tells me it's a good Laddoo.
The box you see was actually a takeaway for the guests. Some guests didn't turn up, but I did !
