At this point, everyone knows that sugar is bad for you! It's breaking the addiction that is so hard. However, there is still confusion around artificial sweeteners, so lets go down that rabbit hole.

Instead of listening to mother nature, we find a magic loophole to our sweet toothe and create artificial sweeteners

There are 5 of these with FDA approval (sadly)
⚡Saccharin (Sweet'N Low)
⚡Acesulfame (Sunnett, Sweet One)
⚡Aspartame (NutraSweet, Equal, and others)
⚡Sucralose (Splenda)
⚡Neotame (food manufacturers use this)

They are all terrible for you. In 4 different studies, here were the conclusions on these FDA approved products and reasons why you should replace with suggestions at bottom
⚡Greater risk for diabetes and metabolic syndrome (Diabetes Care, 2009)
⚡Proven carcinogens in animal studies (Am J In Med, 2010)
⚡Wreak havoc on gut microbes, destroying beneficial bacteria and causing glucose intolerance (Nature, 2014)
⚡Damage neurons and linked to neurological side effects (Enviorn Health Pers, 1987)

In regards to weight loss, the problem is when something has a sweet taste, but no calories, its confusing to the brain. It senses that there is incoming glucose and fructose, but there isn't. The body tries to self correct by making you hungrier. You end up eating even more

Another study published in PLOS Medicine, 2017 concludes that there is no evidence that artificial sweeteners prevent weight gain and there is concern around long term health risks. They also found that about 99 percent of the studies that have shown any benefit were funded by the industry. Big surprise there!

Most people I know have some sort of weight loss goal. .
Here are three facts about reducing weight to help you along the way.

*Healthy fats aide in weight loss and are ultra important to create optimal health. Add these to your menu plan daily. I.e. coconut oil, olive oil, almond oil, avocado oil etc.

*No need to focus on protein consumption. Ample amounts are in the typical diet. A focus on increasing pure foods with increased vitamins and minerals is important. Think green drinks, whole grains, nuts, seeds...plant based.
.
*Reduce the number of hours you eat thru the day to eight and combine foods eaten to create bigger meals this will get cravings and hunger under control.

Losing weight and keeping it off is a lifestyle. Be in it for the long haul not a short fix.
