An emergency pt I saw yesterday. I was very slow all day and all of a sudden i had an implant, 3rd molars, and emergency together.
I placed the bonded lower lingual retainer on this kid that I'm assuming 9 yo from his dental age (sorry I forgot and can't access now). His canine is just errupting so just splinted the 4 incisors.
Occlusal adjustment, lingual retainer to splint #25 that he bumped and is hurting and loose slightly. See the 2nd photo to use the floss to hold the wire against teeth. My GP told me this last year and now I used it. Yeah! I only did 2 floss, one on the right and one on the left to hold it. Why so many... shouldn't it be passive?
In my perio world,,
Now you see the clear MGJ and lack of keratinized tissue on facial. DO NOT worry. Kids tend to grow thicker band of keratinized tissue as they grow older. So we don't consider tissue grafting until later. Ask the faculty if u want the paper.. lol
The 2nd photo is NOT mine. I got it off Google. It is from YouTube posted by Adam Goodman under title "bonded retainer following orthodontic treatment"
