#Maithili - #TheStoryofSita

People often ask me why ‘Maithili Chitrakari’ & why not ‘Mithila Chitrakari’ (i.e what it is supposed to be) !
Maithili Chitrakari is named after the #princess of #Mithila, Maithili (#Sita). “Maithili Chitrakari” is a tribute to the goddess Sita & an effort to showcase the Folk Art from her homeland, Mithila (Parts of Bihar)
“Maithili” is one of the many names of Sita. Sita who is believed to be one of the #incarnations of ‘Aadi Shakti’.She was the princess of Mithila and thus was also called ‘Maithili’. She was born of Earth (Bhoomi+ Jaa=Bhoomija) & was very close to nature and it’s elements. She was one of the most authoritative #women of her times. “Maithili Chitrakari” is named after the princess of Mithila, a tribute to the #goddess Sita & an effort to showcase the Folk Art from her homeland, Mithila (Parts of Bihar).
Through “Maithili Chitrakari” we aim to couture the #handlooms and other silks with the #traditional Mithila folk art.
We aim at giving this age-old folk art a new dimension in the fashion world without changing its innate beauty.

Although it is called #eaglepose in English, #garudasana is named for a #divine #creature . In South Asia, a #garuda is a huge, #mythical bird with the #golden body of a man, a #white face, #red wings, and an eagle's beak. He is the king of the bird community, the enemy of snakes, and the friend of humans. #Garuda is the vehicle of #LordVishnu , the aspect of divinity which sustains the #universe and takes birth as a man. #Rama , #hero of the #Ramayana , is one of Vishnu's divine #incarnations .
:
Garuda's cousin #Jatayu is sometimes described as a #vulture, but he is no more an actual vulture than Garuda is an #eagle . Jatayu is a garuda, and the hero of this story... 🙏🏼☺️ #Namaste

#Splinter is a 2008 American horror film directed by Toby Wilkins. It had a limited theatrical release on October 31, 2008 and stars Shea Whigham, Paulo Costanzo, and Jill Wagner. It was filmed near Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The film opens on a #sleepy gas#boomersoonermf station, where the slack-jawed pump attendant (Charles Baker) is attacked by a seemingly rabid animal. Through a series of glimpses the attendant's body begins to contort after the attack. Meanwhile, a young couple, Seth Belzer (Paulo Costanzo) and Polly Watt (Jill Wagner), retreat to the wilderness for a romantic camping trip in the ancient forests of Oklahoma, but their plans are shattered when they are car-jacked by an escaped convict, Dennis Farell (Shea Whigham), and his drug-addict girlfriend, Lacey Belisle (Rachel Kerbs). As the foursome travel the back roads together, they get a flat tire when they run over a small splinter infected animal on the road. Finding shelter at the now #abandoned gas station, they fend off larger #incarnations of a parasite as it infects more victims.
Soon after their arrival at the gas station, Lacey discovers the infected still-living body of the attendant from the opening scene. Lacey is attacked and dies instantly, but her #corpse slowly reanimates and becomes a new creature, which attacks the remaining survivors. While fighting this creature, Seth, Polly and Dennis discover that severed pieces of the #infected victims are capable of #attacking on their own. Sheriff Terry Frankel (Laurel Whitsett) arrives on the scene and attempts to arrest Dennis, but she is ripped in half by Lacey's corpse. The creature takes the top half of the officer's body to the roof and slowly bonds with it, creating a larger creature. Seth formulates a plan to call for help using the cop's radio left behind when her body was ripped in half. However, during the execution of this plan, the newly rebuilt creature attacks and takes the lower half of the cop. The trio hides in the gas station's walk-in refrigerator when a section of its arm manages to get in and attack them.
