So they're all dead.
I saw the both of them as two lost souls,
Effortlessly having taken the wrong path
But absolutely determined to find their way back.
As if they stood over the edge and waited
With bated breath to drop their weapons and surrender unto a life time of crimes trying to get undone.
They had ideals, they had principles
But neither was of any use,
For they were simply written in the book.
But in speech and action, they were nothing but good old fashioned sinners.
And then came along a third.
Peculiarly macho, with a heart that beat for children, it seemed.
But it was still so futile.
Because you see,
And I say this to you my son,
Crime isn't punished with crime.
A mistake made in murder isn't fixed by committing another.
It takes two hands to make a sound,
Don't let that make you believe that that is the only way to make a difference.
