Join us this weekend for the 1st Leg of our YOGA FOR SURFING WORKSHOP SERIES.
1st Leg (June 11 & 12): CATCHING THE WAVE
A stronger lower back and a more supple spine would permit easier paddling when catching a wave. A more open chest increases the air capacity of the lungs. A good lateral rotation assists in those last strokes before catching a peak. Having healthy connective tissues especially of the neck, shoulders and hips are also critical factors in one's performance in this sport.
In this workshop, we will not only strengthen these areas, we will stretch them, we will lengthen them, and render them more flexible and less susceptible to injuries, those injuries resulting from repetitive use and those resulting from acute traumas (such as tears and pulls). Moreover, by increasing the blood flow in all of these regions, the body will be healthier and, if you have injuries, will able to repair itself more quickly.
