LONDON LOVE NOTES 🗣 This is my last letter in the series ✍️ 5 love letters to the city I found myself in!
Celebrating 9 years and counting here and it’s gotten me a tad chatty. Maybe you will share your comments and notes below too 💕😭
Dear London, oh this picture makes my heart sing! I was so naive, intimidated by a fly, I had so much kindness and I trusted everyone. This letter is all about those monumental pillars of influence you can easily reel off on one hand, parents, loves, and for me LONDON was a teacher. “Experience is a hard teacher because she gives the test first, the lesson afterward.” - Vernon Law
This pic was taken in 2009 the year I arrived in London. At the time I was a contemporary dancer and desperately wanted to be a part of the euro art scene. Here I am at one of the biggest events on the contemporary dance calendar, Vienna’s ImpulsTanz. We were instructed to make a costume purely from what we could find outside. Then we came in and danced our work, we danced so hard that our costumes slowly started to break off and when we finished we were all standing around in our underpants puffing and happy. Feeling insanely creatively content. I’ll never forget that feeling!
Massive cheers London, you made me ME and I’ll have you running through my veins for ever.
