Prue's 🇺🇸 Fellowship update:
😮 Woah! Did you know that the US has over 8600 farmers' markets ‼️ I've focused the first part of my Fellowship on California which has over 800 farmers' markets alone. I managed to sneak in 10 days on the road to explore the ☀️ State and you're almost guaranteed to find a farmers' market nearby wherever you go, no matter what day!
But it's not always rainbows & butterflies though. After my first week of full-gas farmers' markets, the sad reality of a breaking food system can hit home hard...
🛒 I left a little bit of my soul in this BIG 'food' store , Food 4 Less.
Less for what? Less fair prices for farmers. Less for the health of individuals & their communities. Less for food security. •
The Central Valley of California was an eye-opener to BIG Ag that was only truly appreciated when you stop & take a minute to watch the number of people working tirelessly, machinery & resources that go into harvesting on this scale #kalefordays #immigrantsfeedamerica
On a happy note, the blue skies, waterfalls & BIG rocks at Yosemite 😍... holy moly what a breath-taking place! 🙏🏼 the perfect refresher to jump into my next round of farmers' market learning in the San Francisco & Bay Areas!
