Err, I don’t know where to start, I think the artwork is very poetic, but I can’t write that poem, ‘coz I suck... 😞
Bear with me people, I might be (currently) not very poetic, but still very verbose aka coughtalkativecough
Well basically, I’m painting about futility. There’s a saying which said, reach for the moon! And the mermaid did reach for the moon, high up in the sky, which is an accomplishment for a sea dwelling creature.
But you can’t precisely “reach” for the moon, it’s in outer space! So she can only hold it in a make belief fashion.
It’s still an accomplishment though, to be that high in the sky, but then she realize it was kinda in vain to reach for the moon, and now she wants the golden (butterfly) dream, which, my friends, came out from her stomach (butterflies in stomach, I know, I’m super creative), which I interpret of a dream that is more related to her and you don’t need to fly that high to catch a butterfly you know...
Am I making sense? Lol if not, do ask your question! .
