Yesterday, I turned twenty. I had the BEST party ever (Tina!), received so many lovely gifts, and overall just had a great time celebrating the end of my teens. One of the first gifts I got, given to me on midnight because he was excited to give it to me, was this absolutely stunning book from Tate.
He'd hinted for ages that it was a Stephen King book that I had never heard of, and that was driving me nuts! When I saw this wonder, all the mystery had been worth it. This is The Eyes of the Dragon, and Tate was right; it was unknown to me. It turns out that this medieval tale was written for King's daughter Naomi, who was thirteen at the time, and loved to read but didn't have an interest in her father's genre of books. He gave her the finished manuscript and she adored it. Finally, this book was published, though not very popular among his horror-loving fans. Interestingly enough, in this book, the Dark Man makes his first ever chronological appearance--along with a king named Roland.
This book is so beautifully illustrated and intoxicatingly written. Tate was disappointed when he saw the damage to the dust cover, but it doesn't matter. Such a thoughtful and perfect present, as always, when Tate is always worried I won't end up liking what he gets. Spoiler: I didn't like it. I am obsessed with this hidden treasure. #stephenking #stephenkingnovel #theeyesofthedragon #theeyesofthedragonnovel #perfectpresent #birthdaypresent #novel #book #bookstagram #ilovetate #mylobster
