I posted on my story last night about this new eyebrow product, and I got a surprising number of responses and questions, so I thought I’d do an official post and give a mini review on it .
This is the fairly new Shape + Shade Brow Tint from @maccosmetics. It’s essentially a brow liner that is meant to mimic realistic brow strokes, much like the ever popular microblading brow tattoo style. I have very very sparse eyebrows, but I’m still a little reluctant to get microblading done, so this is perfect for me. With just a few quick strokes of the thin brush liner, you can get a SUPER realistic looking brow (3rd pic). The liner has the perfect amount of pigment, not too dark not too light, and the pigmentation makes this brow product really easy to use. I bought the shade Spiked, which is a dark brown, but I also bought Taupe, a lighter cooler brown to layer and add dimension for a more realistic look. There’s also a waxy powder end that’s meant to shade brows and hold them into place, but I haven’t yet figured out how to best use that side for my brows.
Once the brow liner sets on the skin, it seems to wear for a long time and doesn’t come off from natural oils on the skin or sweating. Since I just bought this, I can’t speak to how long the actual product will last or if the brush will dry out quickly, but as long as this doesn’t dry out within a week I think I’ll keep on buying this .
Just as an FYI, products like this are becoming more and more popular and before using this I tried the Make Up For Ever brow liner and it was a total dud. The liner brush is far too thick for realistic brow strokes and it deposits a very liquidy pigment so my eyebrows just looked like a hot smudgey mess. I think if you like a super powdery filled in look, that’s the way to go.
