"What a wicked thing to do, to make me dream of you!" 🖤
The most scenic (and perilous) route would be the Leh to Pangong Tso route, without a contest!
I had been a pillion on the bullet for almost 6-7 hours of the journey that day, I was drenched in freezing cold water, because of the crazy knee deep streams we came across our way. •
With a pair of gum boots in my hands, and my legs trembling with cold, I remember I couldn't wait for the journey to get over, until I saw a string of Zanskari horses running in the meadow parallel to us. White and black horses with the prettiest manes flowing in the air, and what gait, straight outta movie! Poetry in motion, I had trouble believing my eyes and my luck, both.
By the time we reached Pangong, it was around 8, and I swear I could still see the snow covered mountain tops glow with the crimson sunlight, almost an unbelievable sight at that hour. • • •
The lake was not visible at night, and I didn't even care, given my poor condition! And I can't recall how I woke up the next morning at 4, only to witness a humongous ocean of molten Silver and Sapphire shimmering in front of my eyes.
I was speechless, and words still fail to express what beauty I had witnessed that solitary morning, and to quote Stephen Chbosky rightly, "in that moment, I swear we were infinite." ♥️
