Tom's Palette was probably one of the first homemade ice-cream places to set up, and I'm glad that they've survived in the tough F&B scene here. Why? Their flavours are bold and make you go, "How does that even work?!" 😆
Was craving their White Chocolate Nori so I'm glad it was available today! It's unapologetically savoury, but yet doesn't cross the line to, for example, frozen mushroom soup. 😁 The earthy, salty seaweed gets a boost from crunchy toasted almonds. The creamy white chocolate chunks balance the strong flavours out, for an intriguing flavour combination that will make you come back for more.
If you're not into the weird and wonderful (okay, I couldn't bring myself to try the nasi lemak flavour 😆), the Mango Sticky Rice is much lighter on the palate. Sort of like a comforting rice pudding with bits of sweet-tart mango. I would have preferred a stronger coconut flavour though.
