Contrary to popular belief, frozen veggies are actually packed with more nutrients. Whaaaat, yes… not only is it more efficient to stock up on frozen and use as you go vs. only having a few days to consume. In regards to nutrients, the main difference lies in transportation. Fresh fruits and veggies are picked pre ripe, meaning they are picked just before they are favorable for consuming so by the time they get to the market, they will be closer to ripe. This lessens the amount of nutrients you are getting vs frozen veggies and fruits being picked at peak ripeness packed full of nutrients and then immediately frozen. Sure, the freezing process can damage some vitamins, but the benefits of having it’s peak nutrients outweighs and makes up for the tiny loss compared to fresh!
So now, you can quit worrying about “being unhealthy” or thinking frozen is “second best.” Stock that freezer up on all kinds of produce even those not in season! 🙌🏼🤗 Not to mention save that dough! $$$ Oh, and my no butter homestyle “gween beebs” recipe! (On the blog link in bio)
