Today was a long and hard day for this angel, but we got answers. I first must tell you all that we have been advised to stop chemotherapy. The chemo that Ellie has been on has done some damage to her kidneys and liver, the extent of damage has not been fully determined yet. Right now her kidneys need a break, from this harsh treatment.
The good news is, her MRI today showed that her tumor and necrosis are both stable! The next few months are very crucial for her, because she is off treatment, we may see growth in necrosis and tumor, or may even see more issues with her kidneys. She will be monitored very closely and we need to keep her illness free, so she has time to heal.
The Botox injections went very well, and she is already showing positive signs. The Botox is meant to weaken her leg muscles, with the hopes that we can stretch out her muscles and get her foot back into her brace. Today her foot was very loose and limp.
Ellie also had some tests ran for endocrinology, these showed that she has some damaged to her hormones, and those glands. Her thyroid has taken a hit too. These are all things we will be watching as well.
There are so many hard choices that come with this life. I hate seeing her in pain, and struggling. She has been through so much, and I just want her to have the break that she has worked so hard for. This is just another obstacle, that I know she can overcome. Please pray that her little body heals, and only gets better from here!
