On November 11th we remember the sacrifice and service of those who fought to preserve our freedom and continue to do so.
For many of us war is a phenomenon seen through the lens of others whether that’s through a journalist’s account, a camera lens, or a first-hand veteran. It has touched the lives of all and in my belief should be respected and remembered by all.
I wear a poppy today in remembrance of those who fought for this amazing life I am living. Who thought about the many generations to come and thought about the futures of their grand-kids and grand-kids, kids. We often take advantage of our Canadian values and institutions, our freedom of speech, cultural or political and all the opportunities and privileges bestowed upon us.
Despite all the politics occurring right now we must not become ignorant and blindsided to our true nationalistic values and privilege. Today I am proud to be Canadian.
Special shout out to my Dad who served 25 years in the military and to my Uncle Jorg Adler who continues to serve. “Without freedom there can be no ensuring peace and without peace no enduring freedom.” #peaceandlove #illremember #nov11
