Boom a Park Run PB this morning in the beautiful sunshine! I'm annoyed with myself for not pushing a bit harder as I was with the 25minute pacer until nearly 3.5km. Just signed up to the #swanseahalfmarathon which will be my fourth #halfmarathon this year, but this one is slightly more special to me. My #run will be part of a #worldrecord attempt for the largest number of #type1diabetics to run a half #marathon together and also to raise awareness of #type1diabetes and the symptoms. Thousands of people die each year from undiagnosed #diabetes and these deaths can easily be prevented by knowing 4 simple warning signs: excessive thirst, frequent urination, low energy and weight loss. Having been a #type1diabetic since the age of 7 I have never really spoken that much about it and this #event provides the perfect opportunity to share knowledge and experience and help to stop #diabetes going undiagnosed. A week after the #virginlondonmarathon2017 and my hair has gone back to its "natural" #blonde #colour after being #pink for #diabetesuk when my donations reached over Β£3k! I'm kind of missing it already πŸ‘©πŸΌβ€πŸŽ€

So this just happened...one week after my #firstmarathon at the #virginlondonmarathon2017 and I've just signed up to the #parismarathon next year with @kellogs_44 and @ghsparky eek!

Along with all the struggles of #marathontraining I have to say I've never felt so #fit and #healthy before. The last 4 months have been an intense process of endless #running #corestrength #exercises #stretching and eating well. On to the next #challenge #wimbledoncommonhalf #thisgirlcan

Over £3k raised for #diabetesuk in my #virginlondonmarathon2017 challenge. I'm over the moon about the #support I have received over the last few months from all my #friends and #family raising such a large amount of money for a #charity that means so much to me. ❀️

Although my eyes are shut in this photo it is one of my favourite shots from my #firstmarathon experience at the #virginlondonmarathon2017 last Sunday. The #training and actual #marathon itself was the hardest #challenge I have ever set myself and I'm so proud of my achievement even though the day didn't go to plan. Having been a #type1diabetic since the age of 7 I have never let #diabetes stand in my way and although my blood glucose shot up to 21 (way above the normal level of 4 to 7) and contributed to me being really sick at around mile 16/17, I carried on to the very end. For those who don't know, sugar levels that high lead to dehydration and feeling sick which is not the best feeling mid marathon! I was determined not to let it beat me and although I didn't finish in my #trained for time, I finished, I got the medal and on reflection, I showed diabetes who's boss!

And this is what #motivates me to just keep on #running !
