I'm just going to pretend that everyone is in school this week! Thankfully, I 💗 my Kinders and we're super excited to build turkey traps tomorrow!

Words can't describe how amazing today was! In honor of #WorldChildrensDay my students took over @unicefusa Headquarters AND rang the @nasdaq closing bell in Times Square! Truly a day we will never forget! So proud of these kids for raising their voices for @unicefkidpower #KidsTakeover #InsideSuccess #successacademy #nyc #timessquare #nasdaq @teachunicef @unicef

A Christmas tree for all of your tropical/pineapple lovin' teachers! Tell me.. would you put this up in your classroom or home? 😂😍 Tree by @treetopia

This is quite accurate...yet we will still be out there giving it 110%! ❤️

No bells. Hot coffee. Pajamas. Chill. I'm already loving the first day of Thanksgiving break! 🍁🍂 #chill #coffee #wonder #thanksgiving #tiredteacher #grateful #aplfonts

These handprint turkeys from @eighteen25girls are maybe the most adorable handprint craft we do all year. OBSESSED. One more day! (Aka 3.5 more hours since we get out extra early) anyone else still in school tomorrow?? 🦃🦃🦃 #thanksgiving #handprintturkeys

One of my favorite incentives after Thanksgiving break is bucket filling with the Grinch. I read the Grinch story to my students. Then we talk about how we can make the Grinch’s heart grow through acts of kindness and bucket filling. For each act of kindness, a student earns a small red heart ❤️. Students are in charge of giving out hearts to classmates. Whoever earns a heart, writes their name on it and turns it in to me. If we can fill the Grinch’s heart before winter break, then the class earns a reward- we watch the Grinch movie (the original cartoon!) and eat a special snack (usually popcorn 🍿). Conveniently, we always fill the heart each year. 😜 #teachertip #classroommanagement

Even in high school it’s good to reflect on what you’re thankful for.. and happens to be a super appropriate novice level listing activity for my Spanish 1s! Bonus that it’s cute and seasonal 😉 thanks to my roommates for contributing to the decor- you know I don’t have the art skills for that turkey! @coachbudak 🙌🙌 *temporary link to activity in bio*

Today my kids received their Thankful books from the Thankful Project, and it was just amazing. I loved seeing their beaming smiles and hearing the thank you’s to their classmates. I told them to hold on to these feelings and know that while we may have bad days, we all care for and are thankful for one another. #allthefeels #thethankfulproject #thankful

Teacher Tip: put a rubber band around the hand sanitizer (or any bottle) neck so those little hands don't get a full pump. They don't need it and it ends up dropping all over the floor anyway. #teachertip #tptteachertips @teacherspayteachers

Turkey glyphs galore! Great and fun way to incorporate art and help students follow step-by-step instructions. 🦃

Today we tried to help our turkey friends survive Thanksgiving...though a few firsties noticed they’re already missing their heads 😬🦃😂 Happy #turkeytuesday !

Any other third grade teachers singing this all. day. long? No...just me?!? 😳 #multiplication #multiplicationmashup

Get your kiddos engaged during centers- using fruit and veggies- here are just a few ideas:⠀
1. Sort the food into categories (fruit, veggies, by color, size, etc).⠀
2. Write simple sentences: I see _____. Then have a partner add a descriptive word to the sentences. ⠀
3. Choose a piece of food and write a story explaining why it's your favorite.⠀

The fruits and veggies are from IKEA!

@thebalancedteacher makes me want to read Wonder even more than I already want to! 😍😍😍 Check out her awesome ideas for teaching Wonder! #teacherfollowtuesday

Teacher Tip Tuesday: “Do you require your students to do outside reading? This is my best tool for getting my students interested in books and genres! I require 60 minutes of outside of class reading including 2 nonfiction articles a week. They can choose anything they want to fulfill this requirement. I have a class library (shoutout to Scholastic for helping me build my collection) and offer different @scholasticinc titles for their convenience.” How do you encourage students to read outside the classroom? #NCTEvillage
