Meal deal - signature strips, spicy fries and a drink - £10
As fried chicken lovers 🍗 🍗 🍗 , we were so excited to try out Mother Clucker, especially with all the insta hype we have seen! But, our experience didn’t fully live up to the hype! We checked them out on Friday at @kerbfood West Quay, and queued up for a good 15 minutes in the sun (which we weren’t complaining about because it’s such a rarity!). Now on to the food. The chips were actually really flavoursome; the Cajun seasoning had a nice kick to it. But the chicken strips themselves were a bit of a let down. Whilst the chicken was fresh, and juicy (the brine and buttermilk soak was really doing its job!), the actual flavouring left a lot to be desired... it was sticky and left a strong vinegary aftertaste. We were willing to give them the benefit of the doubt as we did go on one of the hottest days of the year (not usually chicken wing weather 🤷🏻♀️), but the fact that the soft drink cans were served warm, didn’t really help! Overall it was decent, but not something we would rush back to have and a bit pricey for a lunch option at £10... NB Chicken is halal
