'You don't climb mountains without a team, you don't climb mountains without being fit, you don't climb mountains without being prepared and you don't climb mountains without balancing the risks and rewards. And you never climb a mountain on accident - it has to be intentional.' - Mark Udall.
Another mountain we climbed in New Zealand is Mt Taranaki or Mt Egmont, situated in
Egmont National Park, south of New Plymouth, close to the west coast of the North Island. Taranaki has been the Māori name for the mountain for many centuries, and the mountain now has two official names, "Mount Taranaki" and "Mount Egmont".
Mt Taranaki has great spiritual significance to local Maori: the crater and summit is the sacred head of Taranaki, the rocks and ridge are his bones, rivers his blood and plants and trees are his cloak and offer protection from the weather.
Rising above the clouds, the 2518 m summit of this dormant volcano offers spectacular views to those who make the challenging climb to its peak. At some places we could easily see the Tongariro National Park and its three volcanoes at about 100 km distance (1 picture of it in this serie). Really breathtaking!
MOUNT TARANAKI SUMMIT TRACK is a very adventurous climb and is not to be taken lightly - Mt Taranaki is more difficult and dangerous than it may appear. It should only be attempted in good weather by fit and experienced trampers with proper equipment.
The best time to climb is from February to mid-April when the slopes are bare of snow (though ice remains year round in the crater). It takes 8-10 hours to complete.

Since I shared just a few photos from my trips, I decided not to be stingy and post travel impressions, those nice photos that are clogging my folders and see what you think about them.
Overall feeling in Singapore was like I was dropped in the video game. Everything in its right place, on time, clean and programmed. Fascinating tho. Have you been there?
