I feel like the more donuts I eat.. the leaner I look. 🤔😹 But we all know it (or at least I hope so) that it doesn't work that way! Fat loss happens when we eat in a caloric deficit & create a negative energy balance. This causes our body to tap into those fat cells & use the stored fat as energy! While yes, this means that you can essentially eat anything & still lose fat, it doesn't mean you should. But it is something to keep in mind when you are in a cutting phase & you are craving something. Just have it! Restriction only leads to bad relationships with food & it can also trigger disordered eating. 🙅🏽
I believe in nourishing your body with wholesome nutritious food but I also believe in nourishing the soul with fun foods, memories & experiences. 🙆🏽 If you guys have kept up with my story, you might have noticed I've been quite the foodie lately.. pero like - who says no to free donuts? 😹🤷🏽♀️ Especially in the off-season! Even though my goal right now is far from fat loss, I still aim to maintain a physique I feel comfortable with, all while having good life balance.
This to me means I enjoy myself when I want to & I track my macros when I want to. I might eat a donut, but I will also compliment that with some egg whites on the side because I am aware of the importance of nourishing my body as well. 🙏🏽 And that is how I maintain my physique during my off-season.
The reason why I share this with you guys is because I don't want you to think that all I do is eat donuts & look this way. But also to show you guys that eating treats & more calorie dense foods won't ruin your progress either. It's all about moderation fam.
90% of the time I eat almost the same food I eat during prep (in bigger quantities ofc) bc I genuinely enjoy that kind of food. 🤷🏽♀️ I can easily say I love donuts as much as I love oatmeal. This is my balance with this lifestyle! 🙏🏽 .
