#thuthbombthursday. I was a serial yo-yo diet queen. I have tried them ALL (healthy, extreme, super dangerous). All of them.
They all worked!!
For a couple of weeks.
Then I’d gain it back (sometimes double) and overtime I noticed my health wasn’t bouncing back as quick.
And then suddenly it just wasn’t. Digestion was a HUGE issue of mine. I had to cut out high fibre foods. Then most veggies and legumes. Then the more processed and easier to the digest the food, the less pain I felt. It took a lot of self reflection.
I recovered from eating disorders but was I still practicing disordered eating?
How sever was the damage to my body
Could I reverse it?
Would it take years?
Yes. Bad. Yes. And years. These were the answers and they sucked to accept. It took years, a lot of education and focusing on not only finding balance in my food but to also deal with the psychological aspect of WHY I was still binging and why I couldn’t find middle ground.
So what does this have to do with a pretty shake?
A ton. This is how I care for my insides as well as my outsides. Ginger and lemon are still my go-to many years later to soothe any irritation and restore balance. Try it and see how you feel!
