3 years ago today, I ran my first marathon, Baltimore Marathon. It took me 4hrs and 15 mins. My next marathon,7 months later my time got worse by 30 mins (completed in 4 hrs 45 mins). If you would have told me I would run 9 half marathons, 20 marathons, 7 ultra marathons (four 50Ks and three 50 milers), two marathons within 12 hours, complete Tough Mudder, qualify for Boston in a year after missing it 10 times, and now sign up for my first 100 miler, I wouldn’t believe you. All I set out to do was challenge myself and looking back I’m amazed at how far God has brought me. There have been tears and lots of laughter, setbacks and comebacks, days of second guessing myself and daring to try even when I didn’t always know how it would end. You don’t have to know how the whole story goes, just start and keep consistently getting back up despite what life throws your way. You will surprise yourself, I know I have.
On Saturday I plan to run Baltimore Marathon and Atlantic City Marathon on Sunday. I would like to run each race in under 4 hours and I’m nervous😩 but I will dare to try😄. #ICanDoAllThingsThroughChrist
