***listen to your body*** I cannot put into words just how important this is! You only have one body, one life, one shot so don't be reckless with your actions. I've had to take some time out due to a niggle which had the potential to become really serious. I'm not gonna lie this last 8-10 weeks have been hard. No training, no running, no climbing so what else am I suppose you do?
I'm back now and after only 5 weeks of complete and total rest I felt I could start climbing again. I took things slow and never gave into the temptation of running. As much as I wanted to I knew I wouldn't be ready for that. After a few more weeks I decided to get back in touch with @rebel__pt to help get me back into the swing of things.
8 weeks since I said "no more races" and I ran my first 5k with zero pain. That tells me that my body is happy with the break I have given it so I can now start training properly 😁
So moral of my story is listen to what your body is saying because I'd rather have 2-5 weeks or rest than 2-5 months+++ of physio, surgeries and rehabilitation.
