'When my son was born, I immediately knew something was wrong but the doctors couldn't work out what it was. Colt had several misdiagnoses, including autism, and it wasn't until he was four that doctors realised he had the incredibly rare Fragile X Syndrome. He had to have multiple operations and it was a really worrying time, especially as I'd been a single mother since he was eight months old.โ €
I hadn't been in great shape; I would eat huge portions and watch TV instead of going to the gym, but with Colt's diagnosis, I realised that I had to get healthy for his sake.'โ €

@ukwomenshealth I workout 4/5 times a week with a combination of HIIT workouts and resistance training which I do from the comfort of my own lounge, all it takes is a few kettlebells and hand weights! I love taking my dog out for a run regularly too and I cycle to work and back everyday. I love cooking, it's always been a massive passion of mine, and I love incorporating old well loved favourites into healthy, natural and nutritional meals so you don't have to feel guilty atall! I've learnt hat carbs are not the devil, but it's all about eating the right ones and at the right times! I believe that eating well and exercising well is all about feeling good and having confidence within yourself and that the looking great part is just an added extra! I think I should win this competition because ive learnt over the years that, a fit, healthy body is the best fashion statement! Ankle and Ab workout! Been trying to strengthen up my ankles again so I can get back to glorious- unpredictable netball. I think if you're doing the right level of core workout it should never be easy, as seen here! Try to latentate between resistance from weights or bosu/ bands to keep my core guessing. Being a little poser on my first day back at school and hopefully back in the swing of things! Yummy-overindulgent bank holiday was well worth it. I love those first few sessions back where you feel incredible, even if you're nowhere near your PBs - simply because your body is kickstarting itself again and remembering what it can do.
