What do you think? Does my unshaved/unwaxed underarm look gross or unhygienic to you? Am I making myself less attractive for portraying this picture? ♥I don’t think so,I feel I am neither unhygienic nor gross. Those who follow me will know how harrowing the last month has been, for myself and my husband. So much that I have not stepped out of the house except for a mere 2 hour important meeting which I had the week before last. Even if I did step out, it was either to the doctor or to the pharmacist to ensure my babies needs are met. I have been ignoring myself, and it came to focus today when I had to step out and found myself wanting to wear a sleeveless blouse. Realized that an oops moment, that I have not been to the salon for quite some time and my underarm hair has really grown
There at that moment I had a plethora of thoughts, first being why is it important to remove underarm hair in this current world. Things like these did not exist in the ancient world nor is it mentioned in any ancient religious books (at least none that am aware of). Second, why can’t I just do whatever I want with my hair. It’s my body and my decision. Third, why is it that men with underarm hair are not considered unhygienic or turn-off’s. Why just women?
That time, I realized this is all because of the upbringing. Since I hit puberty, along with other diktats – I was told to keep my arms down in case I wore my favorite mega sleeve T-shirts. Or else I was banned from going out of the house without a full sleeve T-Shirt.
Now, I am a bit discouraged to step out likes this, because of the thoughts ingrained in my mind through the upbringing and also i think its gets annoying to keep hair in hot and humid weather.Seriously i may have posted the picture but still not confident to go out like this. What is your take, people? Don’t you think this (sexist) thinking be done away with ?
