I've been awake for 32 hours, I hiked 6 miles today, I've barely eaten anything, and yet I feel fantastic. Trail therapy is a real thing for me and I'm so glad I was able to get some miles in today. I apologize also to my loved ones for making them worry since I was out from dawn until dusk.
In winter, nature sleeps. It’s a beautiful, awe-inspiring slumber. Energy is stored, conserved, pulled deep inside and the wait for warmth begins. Yet, even with the lack of abundance, there is a feeling of purity. The deep snow hides color, but has an elegance that draws the attention. Something vital is happening. Winter washes the wilderness of its stains of the past seasons and renews for the seasons to come. We ought to follow nature’s example in this. #pnw#snow#winterslumber#naturesdoover#isaiah1v18#mountrainier#i90corridor#granitemountain#mountaineering#nikon
