Wow, HI INSTAGRAM πŸ‘‹. It's been three weeks since I've posted 😳! Quick update--since posting last, I've decided to take my elimination diet a step further and follow the Autoimmune Protocol (this kitchen sink from @erinmckennasbakery isn't AIP, but it's grain, gluten, wheat, dairy, soy, corn, and refined sugar free). I was nervous about it and never actually thought I'd do it, considering you can't even have black pepper or nuts and seeds, but I've been LOVING it. I don't know if it's AIP, or the new adrenal supplement I'm taking (Phyto-ADR by Pure Encapsulations), or a combo of both (most likely), but I feel better than I've felt in monthsssssss. I have so much more energy, my mood is better, and I don't wake up bloated and puffy every morning. Anybody here doing AIP? Feel free to share your experiences with it! I'd love to hear about it! I definitely have become wayyyyy more in tune with how specific foods affect my body and I can almost fine-tune the way my body feels, looks, and functions day-to-day depending on how I plan my meals, which is a fascinating tool to have πŸ€“ .

Dinner tonight was pretty yummy! May not look like it but I loved it! Baked sweet potato 🍠 and egg white 🍳 protein muffins topped with gorgonzola cheese πŸ§€. I swear, the cheese is amaaaaaazing! I was a feta addict but this is my new addiction. I think I'll buy Costco out of it next time I go!

You guys... my throat is super sore today πŸ€’ I tend to always get a little cold when it starts getting in the 100's in the summer. Not sure if it's allergies, or my body just can't with the heat πŸ€£πŸ™… Anyway... taking it easy and having mostly warm liquids like bone broth, and hot tea with turmeric, lemon and honey, but was really wanting something cold. This smoothie hit the spot with frozen peaches, strawberries, @vitalproteins collagen, arugula, cilantro, avocado, water, and just a bit of @tazachocolate on top. So good! β€’

This is hands down my favorite shoulder exercise. I remember when I first did these last prep and I could barely do 5lb dumbbells the first few times and I worked my way up to 8lb dumbbells. My form has gotten better and I can control the weight so much better with slightly heavier dumbbells. If you haven't tried these yet you need to. They are a great shoulder burn! I started a new routine yesterday and it was actually pretty fun. The workout uses markers and the exercises go from marker to marker and often you slap it. Ha. I didn't buy the official markers so I'm just going to use some masking tape I had flying around. I was tired at the end of it. And then, the best part! A healthy dessert! -

I have been very inconsistent with them..as my autoimmune disorder has kicked my ass the last 6 months (really 2 1/2ys)
Don't ever underestimate how quickly your body will turn on you. Thank God I was very healthy going into this.
If blood work is still horrible... I'm going to UofM....I refuse to not live life!!!!!!!

Is there any other women out there that get SUPER upset when their husbands can fall asleep within 30 seconds of going to bed?! πŸ™‹πŸΌ πŸ˜‚

For over 7 years, every time John and I went to bed I would LITERALLY count in my head 1...2...3...4 and by 30--ALL you hear is 😴😴😴 coming from John!
I would still be awake thinking about everything that went wrong in the day, everything that I wish I could have fixed, everything that I had to do tomorrow, EVERYTHING!!! My mind was that annoying friend that wants to tell you a story before you go to bed and then just WON'T SHUT THE F*CK UP!!! My ANXIETY and DEPRESSION would go through the roof when I went to bed! I would be up for HOURS and once I got to sleep, I would wake up 20x a night!! So then my anxiety would get EVER GREATER! 😩

Nowadays, I'm sleeping like a sweet, baby angel wrapped up in soft clouds. It take me MAYBE 5 minutes to fall asleep now. I'm not waking up 20x a night. I'm not waking up and feeling like I haven't slept an ounce! It's such a refreshing feeling! πŸ˜‡
Now I am energized to get to work in my home office today and spread some LOVE to others! I hope you all have a great day! ❀️ P.S- Yes, I know I'm starting to peel bad! πŸ˜‚πŸ¦

This may come as a shock to some of you, but had Instagram existed over a decade ago, my feed would've been extremely different. First of all, I was extremely unhappy with my weight. I wasn't overweight, but had a fuller physique, or as my Dominican relatives would state, "TΓΊ 'ta fuerte". My diet consisted of frequent visits to Taco Bell, McDonalds, and other fast food chains as I tried to balance being a full time college student, work part-time, and volunteer in various ministries at my church. When the time came for me to seriously consider my weight loss journey, I had absolutely no idea where to start. Unfortunately, health was not the goal, skinny was. So I made modifications to my diet looking for quick fixes, such as significantly restricting my calorie intake while continuing to eat junk. I lost weight, but I was tired all of the time and lacked energy often. It was then that I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism, but even my trainer at the time said he would have thought I had Hyperthyroidism because I was so thin. Fast forward to many nutritional mistakes later that led me to prioritize my health over the size of my πŸ‘–. My first step was making the decision to refuse to eat any fast food. I started to implement smoothies and fresh pressed juices into my diet. I experimented with salads and realized that greens could actually be filling and I could eat a lot of them. I began eating more wholesome foods instead of the processed stuff. I felt younger at 25 and had so much more energy than I ever did as a teenager. It was in making small changes that my health journey has evolved into what it is today. Now I'm not as restrictive with my food choices and have more of a balance. I treat myself every now and again. There is no quick fix or big secret to health and I think that is a great thing. It is a decision and journey to learn to treat your body with care. If you are interested in living a healthier lifestyle, start somewhere. What are some things you can say yes to (vegetables, fruit, etc.) and what are somethings you can say no to (refined sugar, processed foods, etc.) today? Start small and work every day towards being a healthier you 🌿

Some days you're on the injured reserved list. No! Wait! That's not true at all. Some days you just have to modify!
I almost gave myself an out today based on fear of hurting myself. So instead, I pushed myself in a safe way with a little less weight and made sure I gave it 110% on the moves that had nothing to do with my arm.
No outs today- we all have work, kids, health, stress, LIFE!

My lunch today pretty much defines summer: πŸ₯’ πŸ† πŸ… πŸ‹ 🌿 plus some mozzarella πŸ˜‹and πŸ‰ for lunch-dessert (that's a thing, right?) I ended up with a migraine after work yesterday so I didn't start Week 27 yet; aiming to begin today. I'm still holding on to extra weight from the medication I was on last month (frustrating given that we are going to the beach next week...)
