TRX #rows and #reardeltflys, incline #pullups in the squat rack because I'm still weak AF, upright rows and bent over rows. #tbarrows and #hyperextensions are my favorites, ugh, they just feel so good!

Followed by some #abs with flutter kicks and leg raises and attempts at some #pikes with sliders. Yeah, I'm gonna have to work on those... Finished with 20 minutes on the #stairclimber with 25 second #deadmills every 4-5 minutes.

Step ups. An effective strength-training exercise that can be done anywhere, in the gym using a plyo box, or outside on a bench or set of stairs. If you want a strong and developed lower body. Add this to your roster. This exercise recruits a number of muscles in your lower body. Quads, hamstrings and of course the gluteus maximus.
How far away from the bench will determine which muscles are emphasized. Want more focus on the glutes 🍑 then consider this modification. Stand about 1 1/2 to 2 feet away from the box or step you will be using. For glute activation you want a greater degree of hip extension to trigger the glutes to do more work. Being closer to the bench will decrease hip extension and increase the amount of knee extension, so your quadriceps will be taking on most of the work. Both variations are great for strength and muscle development. Moving slow and controlled makes for a good stability exercise too.

Wednesday is leg day! This routine always gets me nice and sore! Great for glutes and hammies.
💪🏼 Romanian Deadlift
- Set 1: 20 reps at 85lbs.
- Set 2: 15 reps at 115lbs.
- Set 3: 12 reps at 135lbs.
- Set 4: 8 reps at 145lbs.
💪🏼 Barbell Squat
- Set 1: 20 reps at 65lbs.
- Set 2: 15 reps at 85lbs.
- Set 3: 12 reps at 95lbs.
- Set 4: 8 reps at 115lbs.
💪🏼 Weighted Hyperextensions
- 4 Sets at 25lbs., holding flex for 10 seconds at the end of each set.

Anyway, hyper extensions is one of my favourite exercises becuase it doesn't only focus on your lower back but also you core, depending on how you do it.
I use a 20 kilo plate to get that extra resistance for my back. Love the burn 💯🔥

I did NOT want to go to the gym this morning. We're talking grumpy, tired, hangry Emily having a mini leg-flailing tantrum at the prospect of getting out of bed at 6:30. Thankfully I have my biggest supporter and lion-tamer @beepimmajeep who dragged me out of bed and fed me pre-workout, because he knows I always feel a million times better after going to the gym. Motivation isn't constant, and on those days you have to find the willpower to push through. Or enlist someone to force you 🤣Also RIP hamstrings 😩☠️

Saw some massive guy on Instagram doing hyperextensions with a dumbbell so figured I would give it a go!

These are like mine and Ryan’s new fave movement! Using a dumbbell allows you to go heavier than holding a 20kg plate and is a lot easier than holding multiple plates at once!

Great movement for working your posterior chain AND let me tell you...putting these near the end of your workout and for 5 sets is absolute KILLER!! Queue the light headedness and feeling like you are about to throw up.

Was a 40kg dumbbell in case ya wondering and yes @ryan_woodard90 was lifting it too...really well too I might add 💪🏻he making gains!

Worst demi pointe ever.. 🙄 but look at this beautiful leo!! When I ordered it I thought it was a light blue with a beautiful pattern. Turns out it’s a black leo completely covered with white lace.. 😅

I very much believe a leotard can change the way you dance. With this beauty today, I felt capable of doing everything. My jumps were indeed a higher and had more bounce, pointework felt much easier, and the whole class came so naturally. 🙌🏻
I didn’t want class to end today.. I’d love to still be in the studio working!

Added some accessory work to the end of my leg day :) it’s been a little rough recording lately bc my tripod that I was SOOO excited for kinda sucks (spend more then $8 brianna, then maybe it’ll work well 🙄) & I’ve been going to the gym alone! Hyperextensions are great bc you can focus on your booty/hammys or your lowerback depending on your form! *Vid sped up x2*

To focus on the 🍑:
•feet pointed outward, keep your upperback rounded & chin tucked in, push into the pads w your hips as you squeeeeeze the life out of those cheeks & go slow & controlled (I usually hold a weight close to my chest when performing both of these)

To focus more on your 🔙:
•keep your feet pointed forward, as push into the pads you can allow your hips to come off them a little as you are contracting, MIND MUSCLE connection- really focus on feeling the movement in your lower back, hold the weight to your chest

Imran and I spent about 7 weeks at the gym today and hit all the usual stuff- #deadlifts (top set at 350x3) , #defecitdeadlifts (top set at 305x3) and barbell rows (top set at 185x10, 175x10 shown). I wanna talk about the two new things we did today a little bit more though.

Up first we have #dumbbell unilateral #hyperextensions . I expected to feel these in my low back, what I did not expect was for these to smoke my ENTIRE posterior chain! If you’re not doing these, you’re missing out. I’m sore in places that I’ve never been sore before, and I’m taking that as a good sign. These are here to stay.

From there, we moved to some kneeling straight arm #pulldown (a @smith.julian variation) . The increased core stability required for this movement combined with the huge range of motion for the #lats to work in makes this variation a killer. Imran and I both highly recommend it!

One of my fav sessions ! I could of pushed it further today but didn't ! Completed what was asked of me with my deadlift again upping the weights next week! Hyper extensions again beat my scores!and feeling stronger.
Never compare what u do with others , everyone's fitness journey is different, don't try to up the weight too quickly either your form is more important than the weight u lift!
Now time for a couple of rest days 😁
