#Ruhpolding seen from the top of the #Rauschberg (1675 m).
Ruhpolding is slightly above 700 m see level. With only 7000 inhabitants it is one of my favorite towns in Germany, just for the nature. #Hiking and #biking is a charm. Today I went up hill nearly 900 m. I had to dismiss my first plan to go down by the cable car, but like last time I climbed, the cable car did not operate. Last time because of a #ligtning strike - this time, they say, because of technical maintenance.
There must be many people on a day with normal operation - today total #silence. However, I wished I could have drunken a fresh #Radler but
also the mountain restaurant was closed and I had to be satisfied with the water I had carried. Ruhpolding got some #fame due to the #Biathlon
championships, it hosts the second largest Biathlon stadium in Germany. In the background of the photo one can see the #Chiemsee, the
third largest lake in Germany. Never did I have such a clear view.
#Metereologists say the clear #weather in #Germany right now is due to the bad weather with #Hurrikan "Ophelia" hitting Ireland today. #snapseed
