✈️ 🇮🇳 I’m off to India in a couple of days and as typical of me I left most of the planning to last minute. I am super excited to be on the road again, but for now I am preparing mentally for the intensity that India offers. Will be fun 😊
Budapest is one of those cities that I always like to come back to. There is a sense of travel that really cannot be transmitted, not in the form of sound, image or text. I felt that much in many places, and it was repeated in Budapest again. It feels like you really feel safe and relaxed, maybe it's not from a local perspective, but I felt like that as a traveler. At nights, the streets were very quiet and calm, only in the neighborhoods where there were a lot of bars. I was returning home safely at nights, in which case I should thank Laszlo that put me in that unlimited term.
I thought it was kinda funny today when I commented on a meme put up by an acct i used to follow and the result was quite unexpected. See the meme was about is it ok for a white person to say the n word. My comment was rather informative and leaning towards the development of progression within our selves and community for a better future. I also included references of origin or the word as far back as the 13th century and my own experience of racism. Why was it funny? Because as soon as my comment started receiving numerous likes and supportive feedback, the ig acct holder deleted it and posted a picture of random Mayan culture exhibits vs what we see depicted as Mayan culture hence saying they were originally black. Ok cool...but he also posted that the post was deleted because he would not support a monglonoid female trying to act as a melaninated queen with further insults to the monglonoid. Well guess who that monglonoid is? Lol What i learned is that some people cant appreciate knowledge when it comes from a conscious white skinned hispanic native woman. Apparently my skin color disqualifies my information..its cool tho bro. All you showed me was that you would rather promote racism on an extreme end. Would you hate a baby born of rape? Is it her fault? Because all my mixed peoples generations were born this way when the caucazoids raped their lands and women. But im not mad, im above that. And if you feel a certain type of way against any ethnicity you need to click that unfollow button real quick. Dont be mad cause the white girl knows more of your history and bloodlines than you do. Step ya game up dramatically then if i scare you. Cause ive worked hard to educate myself and there is no man/woman on this Earth i will bow down to, original hue or not. We are all beings of this planet and this is not a show of the superior race #ego#pride#sitdownbehumble#showlove#interracial#love#boricua#polish#german#hungarian#proudmonglonoid#donthatecuzimintelligent#itsusagainstthem#revolutionary#woman
I cannot thank #nyrb enough for allowing non #hungarian speakers like myself to discover the eerie beauty of #szabo ’s stories. #katalinstreet I believe it’s the 3rd one they have published so far and it does not disappoint. The #past interacts with the present and at some point there is such a direct conversation that it’s almost impossible to tell what’s what from what else. The past longs for the present as much as the present longs for the past. The family stories reminded me of #imrekertesz At some point despite their best intentions, they all screw up and their mistakes have massive consequences such as concentration camps and certain death. Their mistakes and to some extent inhumanity derive from a series of decisions, which ring true to our own daily decisions faced with having to choose between us and the other. This book is endearing, haunting and shocking all in one. #highlyrecommended#hungarianliterature#budapest#shoah#magdaszabó#magdaszabo#szabó#katalinutca#danube#pest#war#greece#vienna#neighbors#family
