I got home in the early hours this morning after supporting the most incredibly courageous woman birth her baby.
Her birth echoed my own three years ago in some ways and I realised as I often do, how much our experiences can benefit others whilst also creating healing within ourselves.
How I could look at this woman and think, what a warrior, so full of courage. .
It wasn’t so easy to see this in myself, but life often shows us mirrors, a chance to reflect on ourselves and our own experiences.
Yes, when we go through difficult stuff, there’s sorrow, there’s anger, there’s guilt, shame sometimes, there’s why me?
But once we navigate these life challenges, once we feel them, heal them, embody them, we’re ready to share our wisdom with others which they may then choose to pay forward, shifting, joining, connecting the dots in this human tapestry. .
So whilst I was doing my humble warrior in yoga this morning (yes I’m smug, I had a late night and got up for vinyasa and brunch), I reflected on my own journey, the peaks and troughs, joys and pains, fears and faith.
I talked it out with my friend, cried it out on our step where we drink coffee (aka process our emotions), and then I laughed and felt the release that comes when I do dot-to-dot. .
We don’t know where the dots are leading us, but we keep joining them up, one at a time, trusting that eventually, the picture will become clearer, sharper , more vivid.
Then we get to colour it in. .
Be brave, choose bright colours, colour outside of the lines. .
