Haruna, 12, comes from Nigeria. After fleeing his country following Boko Haram attacks in his city, he crossed the border and arrived in Diffa in Niger, where he lives now with a hosting family.
Every single refugee who fled war is traumatized. Leaving behind your home, friends, and sometime your relatives, leaves undeniable psychological after effects.
To my opinion it is a shame that most of people in Europe think that refugees come to their countries because they don't have a job, or because they want money. That is ignoring the truth about where they come from, and the reality they are facing.
Haruna's mother, Fati, was a hairdresser. She is missing. His father was a driver. He died during the attacks.
Understanding each other is key to compassion and acceptance. In Diffa, thousands of family welcomed home refugees, waiting for better days to come.
