Love the skin you're in
The world of social media today is difficult to navigate. .
Is it cool be nekked or almost nekked? I mean...why not? .
. . . .
That is us in our most natural form, is it not? And at least in my mind, the human body is something beautiful, each one intricately unique. .
But then there's this divide. Like we are all slowly moving into the camp of "Yes, it's ok to be naked as long as it's not sexual, as long as it's art." .
Are we not sexual beings? Is sex never art? Is it just something to be kept behind closed doors lest we be accused of simply seeking attention, using our bodies to send a message that is...what?
It's all very confusing, and the more I spend time in this skin, the more I feel comfortable in it. The more I feel comfortable in it, the less I care what anyone else thinks or says about my body and what I do with it. .
There's a difference between teaching our daughters to respect and protect themselves & making them afraid or ashamed of their own sexuality, of their own skin. .
Perhaps if sex wasn't so secretive, so taboo, perhaps if we could be a lot more honest and up front about it, we could change the whole conversation. .
This #StartSomethingSunday , I am once again opening the floor.
I want to hear your voices on this polarizing topic. .
How do you feel about the current atmosphere surrounding nudity and sexuality and technology? .
Does it matter?
