One of the things I so love about living in a rural community is the sense of belonging. There are all sorts of events that bring this home to me, and none more so than when once a year I get together with a group pf friends to cook and serve a special dinner at the Federal village hall. It's the annual fundraiser for the Federal Film Society, and grand as that may sound, it's simply a group of volunteers who work tirelessly to help continue that sense of community through a monthly food and film night in the village hall. Each month different groups cater for the event to help raise money for various causes, but this, our dinner, is how we raise funds to keep going, and also part of the money is given to a chosen cause each year. All of which brings me to the fact that this year's Food & Film night is being held on Saturday 14th October. It's such a fun evening - short films, great food, no-end of chat, and crazy quizzes....you can swipe the screen to get an idea of the night.Tickets are very reasonably priced at $36 for members and $42 for non-members for a three course dinner and glass of bubbles on arrival. If you would like to join us, you can book by email - firstname.lastname@example.org or call Fran on 02 6688 4134.
