So I'm on #mercari and saw this and decided to post about it. I cut out the seller's name because I'm not trying to knock their hustle, BUT consumers should always be informed before purchasing things (especially makeup) from sites like this.
Usually when shopping on sites like this, you just see the item you're looking for not the seller's entire page unless you click on it (in the case of buying makeup)...ALWAYS DO SO! Their past listings will give you an idea of if what they're selling is knock off or not.
Take this photo for example. The seller has SEVEN of the same makeup palettes listed, and that's just in the first three rows. There's another six more down that you cannot see which means they've sold 13 of the same palettes for between $20-$25. THIS IS A RED FLAG! Why? Because any makeup enthusiast can tell you that in store, these palettes are $54 not including taxes. Which means if they legit bought these palettes brand new in store, they've spent $702 taxes not factored. Then selling the palettes at $25 (let's go with the higher number since they sold most of them at that price) they would only be making $325 which would result in a loss of $377 which is absolutely INSANE.... UNLESS.... You bought the palettes from AliExpress or some site like that on the low for like $8 so you're only out of $104 plus taxes & shipping and gaining a $221 profit. Makes sense?
Long story short, if the seller you're considering buying from has a whole bunch of name brand makeup for uber cheap, chances are it's fake and they know it. But they'll pass it off as either new or "I don't know if it's authentic." Hell tf you mean you don't know? Didn't you spend your 💰 💰 💰 on it? Be aware.
If you choose to buy, that's fine, but also be aware of the chances you're taking as it is knock off, and the ingredients in it aren't 100% what's listed on the box. I hope this helped at least a little.
