🎉🎉 ONLY TIP TO FOLLOW THIS SEASON WHILE HOSTING A PARTY 🎉🎉 ..
If you have decided to host a party this season and to cook it all yourself then stick to the food/cuisine you are most comfortable cooking. Shortlist 3-5 dishes you are really good at and make that. Remember your job is to wow the guests. So, if your good at cooking Daal, then make that so that your guests can say that's the best Daal I have eaten rather attempting roast Turkey and failing at it. Try and avoid being experimental. This will help you in keeping your calm and cooking up a storm🌪🌪 ..
E.G: my mom is an excellent cook, and she pretty much makes the best Mangalorean Khanna(food)🌟⚡ Ask her to make North Indian, she will panic and mess up even the South Indian Khanna😉 but tell her I want to eat iddiyyappam(fresh homemade rice noodles) with chick pea coconut curry you are in for a treat. ..
So always decide your spread basis your strengths. In Mangalore Christmas is about Sannas, chicken curry, one veg side, some mutton/seafood, Ghee rice, daal, pickle and Kusvar(a regional Christmas Speciality). This spread there is all about being a Mangi. Except for the kusvar, plum cake and Sannas I have covered pretty much everything. In no particular order starting with the big bowl I have there👆..
- Pepper Chicken ..
- Chickpea and Tendli Ajjaina garnished with coconut and tempered with curry leaves and mustard ..
- Cinnamon and Nutmeg Ghee Rice ..
- Idiyyappam(fresh rice noodles) - Daal, chutney and onions ..
- Lastly Chaas (buttermilk) technically they would have wine🍷 .. ..
Now who wants to volunteer and get some take away from my home😉😛😐 ..
Stick to what your good at and prepare to wow your guests🌈🎉💥 ..
