I haven’t had a chance to sit down and type out my thoughts post-wedding since we jetted off straight to our honeymoon. But getting our photos back and reliving the day has given me a chance to process.
Andrew and I got engaged last June in Barcelona and spent hours driving the coast of Spain, France, and Italy, planning our dream wedding. We didn’t know when or where- but we knew we wanted a weekend away, surrounded by our “people”, filled with love and celebration. Somehow, over the last 16 months, we were able to pull off exactly that, and some. We knew we didn’t necessarily want a super traditional wedding, so we set to work, putting our touches on it and making it uniquely us.
We didn’t do it alone, though. Both sets of parents went above and beyond to support us in every way. We have the most amazing families- I don’t know how we got so lucky (@sharpfried @salsharp17 @karenleidal )❤️. My friends gathered around me like the incredible tribe of women they are, all from different walks of life, yet all my lifelong sisters just the same. My best friend @divyad lead the way, knocking her maid of honor role out of the park, as she tends to do with every task she takes on. Andrew’s best man @miketurnernyc , also one of my dearest friends, officiated with charisma and ease- our ceremony more beautiful than we ever imagined. We watched new friends exchanging hugs and numbers as our loved ones all surrounded us and connected, just as we’d hoped they would.
We hired the most incredible vendors: the team at @diamondmillsweddings who created this magical day, our incredible photographer @nidyalloydphotography, the musical dream team at @djdonnielewis , and my beauty gurus, @makeupartistrybyjillian and my hair stylist from childhood who drove all the way from New Jersey to be there.
And of course, my husband, who made what could’ve potentially been the most stressful year of my life (for an anxious bag of nerves like me) the most fun I’ve ever had. Only one decision mattered in this process: the one I made when you took a knee on Barceloneta Beach. And the answer to that will always be a resounding YES. What a way to start the rest of our lives💕
