#HousingDiscrimination. Yet another manifestation of #Racism in America. Don't let any of these "#PostRacialSociety" clowns fool you, either. This wasn't just something that occurred here and there, 60 years ago... It's still prevalent today. There is a host of sources, such as the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development, who released a summary study titled "Housing Discrimination Against Racial and Ethnic Minorities 2012" They found that "African-Americans, Hispanics and Asians learn about fewer housing options than equally qualified whites.
Real estate agents and rental housing providers recommend and show fewer available homes and apartments to minority families, thereby increasing their costs and restricting their housing options. The study concludes this is a national, not a regional, phenomenon"
Another group, the Fair Housing Justice Center, has gone to court 5 times this year so far, to file and settle claims against banks, landlords, and real estate businesses, who were found to be using discriminatory practices against nonwhites. So when I tell you white folk, who are in denial about the reality of America, that we still have a serious issue with race, I dont wanna hear you say "but that happened years ago, it doesnt happen anymore." Quite frankly, I'm sick of hearing that line. In an age when we have vast amounts of information at our fingertips, feigning #Ignorance is no excuse
