Get up. Live your day. Get Killed. Again.
Jessica Rothe stars as Tree, a self-centered college girl who wakes up on her birthday in the bed of the a fellow student, Carter. As she gets out of the dorm room, Tree gets a feeling that she’s experienced the same day before. Before the night ends, she is brutally attacked and murdered then magically wakes up in Carter’s bed again. Now, Tree must find out the identity of the killer and stop him or her before she is murdered and relives the same day over again and over again.
Okay, I did not expect that I’d actually like this film.
IT WAS WAY BETTER THAN I EXPECTED. It’s not as cheesy and corny as it looks. Thank God, Slasher films are returning! Ughh, I’m so sick and tired of paranormal ghost shit nonsense! It’s time for the real stars of horror, the slashers and monster flicks to return! What I loved so much about it is that it wasn’t just a horror film, it had a lot of humor and heart to it too.
I knew who the killer right a way was though lmao, I learned this from the Scream movies, in these kinds of slasher films, the red herring character is obviously always not the killer and always look at the characters with less screen time and less likely to have a motive because those are characters who are more likely to be the killer. Jessica Rothe was great too, I loved her, she brought a lot of life to the film, I also really liked the character development, she started out as a stone cold bitch then she slowly turns into a likable, sweet character. I never seen any of her films before, but I think she was amazing, I look forward into seeing more of her in the horror genre. The soundtrack was great too, I loved when Demi Lovato’s Confident played during the death montage scene lol. Will definitely be buying it when it comes out on DVD. (7/10)
