Train to Busan (Busanhaeng) (2016)
cc: @gunnar.bell and many many others for requesting.
Train to Busan is one of the best zombie movies in years, setting an exceedingly high bar for production quality and character development in modern horror. -
28 Days Later is arguably my favorite movie and I’ve been a fan of Korean horror since 2006s The Host so Train to Busan was more or less made for me, and to my and everyone else’s delight, it’s fucking great. Zombie movies as of late have ranged from aight (Girl With All The Gifts) to miserable (Viral) so Train to Busan was and still is exactly what the genre needs. Icing on the cake… it’s on #Netflix so queue it up bruh.
👍 : Yeon Sang-ho expertly balances claustrophobia, plot, and great cinematography in a film taking place almost entirely on a highspeed train.
👎 : social narratives are a bit silly but easily forgivable given the films quality.
Genre: #Horror / #Zombies / #Thriller
Also try: I Saw The Devil, The Host, The Wailing.
Avoid: Viral, Quarantine and all its horrid sequels.
LMK what you think!
