The year seemed to progress slowly due to the excess rain, the presence of Leafhoppers and the amount of aggressive undergrowth weeds but in the last three weeks these gorgeous gals have grown quite quickly.
The left photo shows the fuzzy and hairy Hop cone in its first stage of development.
The upper right photo shows the next stage of development in which the bracts, the papery leafy structures that make up the cone, begin to take form and form the conic structure.
The bottom right photo was taken yesterday and shows the Hop cone nearing its full size and appearance.
I will check for Lupulin content today, the magical gold substance found in the cone that contain the alpha & beta acids responsible for those fantasic flavors we love.
