It's been a couple days of non stop rain here . So I'm reflecting back in this photo . This was from my last house in Alberta . Every year I use this simple trick to add a pop of colour to my outdoor furniture . I buy an inexpensive vinyl tablecloth and simply use it to wrap 3 or 4 cushions for my chairs . ( I don't even sew them ! I just wrap like a present and pin ) .It's a great way to change the look but on a budget . I'm sharing for #hometipthursday follow all hostesses tagged ❤️. If you have a decor tip, organization ideas , inspiration , recipes and anything that celebrates home 🏡 , feel free to play along .
I love a good console table. You can use one to separate an open concept space as we did here between our family room and eating area. They are great in an entryway with a mirror above, or behind a couch so you don't have "the couch against the wall" look. This one is from @worldmarket and we added those little pulls to tie in the black accents. #zaccagninihome#hometipthursday
Now it's time to climb in here, right after I put the roast and carrots in the oven to slow cook over night. I'm excited for church in the morning to worship the one who paid it all! #jesuspaiditall . . . Also I found a super fun new hashtag called #hometipthursday so I'm going to sneak a post in at the last minute. My tip: you can very easily use tongue and groove boards to make a headboard yourself!
Hooray! It's Friday! 🎉 . . For several months, I have been looking for a cream colored garden stool for my LR. The retail prices started at $89 (on sale) and that was not in my budget right now. I found a robin's egg blue one for $40 @homegoods and decided to spray paint it ivory (scroll ⬅️ for pics that I used in my Story.) The total cost for this project was $47! It was so easy to do! It just took patience (okay, not my strong suit). The key was painting with short motions and not staying in any one spot too long so the paint would not drip. . . Honestly, last year, before joining IG, it never would have occurred to me to buy something in the wrong color and turn it into what I wanted. I am so thankful that I have been introduced to so many creative people that inspire me daily. . . . #thedailydiyhome #hometipthursday #frugalfridayfind #saturdaydecorscores #gardenstool
Does anyone else open their pantry and just stare blankly at everything hoping somehow dinner will makes itself??? I've got to get better at meal planning. Got any family friendly recipes you want to share, send them my way! #whatsfordinner#hotdogsagain 😬
TVs, a necessary evil, right? Okay, okay. They aren't necessarily necessary. I'd love to get rid of ours and put a beautiful painting or mirror up there, but my family won't have that. 😏 so, do you style yours? Hide it while not in use? I'd prefer to hide mine, but the set up in our living room isn't exactly accommodating.
Raise your ✋ if you're coming to Oregon to experience the total solar eclipse next week! An expected one million people will be flooding in over the weekend, which means I'll be avoiding the freeways and all other outings. Hope you'll enjoy this rare moment wherever you may be! . . #shochicproject
Do you know how heavy a vintage 30 inch deep x 7 foot long x 1 3/4 thick butcher block is?
Cutting the hole for our stainless laundry sink was painstaking, and the hubs was really worrying how he was going to cut the whole length of the butcher block counter top so it would fit our Craigslist Kraftmaid hickory 24" deep kitchen (now laundry) cabinets
I mentioned sweetly that maybe we could move the cabinets 6 inches out further away from the wall, so the "cabinets" fit the butcher block and showed him how it would look
Oh how I wish we had pretty flowers at home and it's itching to go on a flower run to the store and fill up all of my empty vases but we're about to go on vacation so what's the point if I can't enjoy them 😏 So instead of flowers, I bought shoes 🤣 Enjoy your day sweet friends!
