It’d be hard to find a more animated guy than this one when it comes to Play Doh!! He told me it was a whale. I’d love to see into his little mind sometime 😂😅

Today we read about oviparous and viviparous animals. Together we categorized animals into these two groups. I wanted to do this activity since my daughters had been asking about animals that lay eggs. Had my preschooler write out the words with our movable alphabet. Hoping they go back to doing this activity on their own. #montessoriscience #scienceforkids🌌🔭 #handsonlearning🙌🏻 #activitiesforpreschoolers #activitieswithchildren #homeschoolchildren #homeschoolpreschool #preschoolhomeschool #montessorieducation #montessoriactivities #montessoriinspiredactivities #educandoniños

Our classroom today, a giant sensory bin full of places to explore, things to collect and examine and water to chase. We just took our time, lay in the sand and enjoyed the ocean.

Thank you so much for the incredible support on my post about homeschooling Pania. I was not expecting such a response and greatly appreciate all of your positive comments and dms.
.
I wanted to answer a few questions that came up. One being ‘Are we following a curriculum?’, yes we are. My dear friend and homeschool mentor Lori, from @yayamamasblog, has been a huge support. She holds homeschooling workshops and I’ve learned so much from her. If you are thinking about homeschool or just need mama support check her out.
.
She shared a few curriculums but the one that resonated with me the most was @blossomandroot which is nature-based. It was the style that aligned with the way I naturally teach Pania through our adventures around Maui.
.
We are still getting use to the scheduling of it all but I am part of a Mama group. Pania has known most of the kids in this group since she was 4 months old and I am very conscious of her getting enough social interaction.
.
Fortunately Todd, my husband, also works mostly from home and will be helping with homeschool. He brings a totally different teaching style to mine which I see being a huge benefit to Pania.
.
I’m looking forward to continuing to share our experience and again greatly appreciate all of your support.
Mahalo Nadia ❤️

Homeschooling has gone a lot better this week for 3 main reasons:
01. All the moms are like, “Girl, this is normal!” (Thank you mamas who left your loving words of wisdom and prayers in my last post!)
-
02. More and more of my Montessori materials are coming in ahead of my lessons which means less last minute planning. I’ve actually been able to lesson plan ahead and prepare all the work and things I need for the next day!
-
-
03. I’m sleeping better so I have more energy. I’ve struggled with insomnia my entire life (therapy, melatonin, Rx pills, been there, done that). At confession last week, Father told me to offer up my sleep to Jesus; to pray and decide on a time when I’d go to bed each night and put how much I sleep into His hands. I don’t know why I never thought about this before, but it has TRANSFORMED the level of anxiety I have at night. Giving my sleep to the Lord as an act of love brings me a truly special kind of peace as I float off into dreamland.

Routine Charts/Visual Timetables are a display that informs each child of their daily routine and the general expectations at a certain time of the day (pictures/photos/words/time depending on the development on your learner/s). This type of chart is ideal for teaching time, organisation, time management, preschool/daycare/school readiness, responsibility and/or independence.
When creating a visual timetable, you may choose to create an individual chart or a chart for the whole family.
We started with a family visual timetable and now have moved onto one individual one.
We use laminated cards with a template we created and styled with the fabulous and creative clipart @fromthepond
You can get your very own blank copy of our visual timetable here 👆🏻
And purchase the clipart images from @fromthepond to create your own 🙌🏻 #celebrateplay #celebrateplay_tips #visualtimetable

Beautiful day in Melbourne- school holidays and sun! Why not head to the park and throw some maths fun into the trip! Read our latest bog for some great ideas! #numberdoctors.

As a parent, you want your children to have the best education that life has to offer, so they can have the tools they need to navigate and survive in the world that they are living in today and to the future.

We did some pink series work today. We've kind of poked around with it recently but I found some great free printables at The Helpful Garden* to get us started! And actually found some guidance so I don't feel so blind while trying to keep pace with Madison 😜 now I just need to find a good way to store all this stuff 🤔 let me know what you have done if you've been through the pink series. If you have any resources for blue series work (mainly on the how to part) shoot me a DM or leave a comment! ❤️❤️❤️ #montessoriathome #montessorihomeschool #homeschoolpreschool #preschoolathome #montessorilanguage #montessoripinkseries *thehelpfulgarden.blogspot.com

Also, I changed the name from Montessori on the range to homeschool on the range. I just felt it was more broad, especially as we grow into our homeschooling.

What do you see when you look at this picture? A bunch of random items? Trash? What I see are the special little moments I get to share with my kiddos when we go on our “Adventure Walks”. The excitement of finding the perfect rock. The awe of a lonely little gem most likely broken from someone’s jewelry. Discovering what a rubber band is and what it can do. I know this isn’t breaking news or even trendy but it’s my life and I wouldn’t change it for the world. 💗

Working with oobleck is mesmerizing for Mr. 3 yo. Is it a solid or a liquid? 👨🏼‍🔬
Side note: next time we will be doing this activity on a flat table top. 😬
.
The Oobleck ratio is:
2 cup Cornstarch : 1 cup of water .

Last weeks letter of the week was “H” for “Healthy Habits.” We talked about our daily routines that make for good habits (brushing teeth, washing hands..) Also, the kids learned about our food groups, and played a game sorting foods. .
.
.
▪️Each kid was given a piece of construction paper that corresponded to a color of a food group on the food guide plate they had colored. They took turns picking up foods, and figuring out whose paper it should go to. .

This weeks theme is “Five Senses” and our letter is F for Five, Fingers, and Feet. Today we used our @ikeausa bins to set up sensory stations. The kids used their sense of touch and felt 2 types of noodles, kinetic sand, and water beads. .

• DIY JIGSAW PUZZLE •

The girls have been so interested in puzzles lately, and wanting new challenges so frequently, that it got me thinking if I’d be able to diy a jigsaw puzzle 🤔
.
Well, I’m happy to say it is possible everyone! Even if this 12 piece one took me about two hours to make 🤣
.
I think I’d definitely recommend giving it a go if your little is into smaller puzzles, say 2 or 3 piece ones, this would be a very achievable diy for that stage! .
One of the best parts about this is it’s completely FREE!!!🙌🏻 and despite how long it took, it was really fun to make because I love drawing 😉😍
.
I cut out a rectangle from some thick cardboard and then drew a picture on it (I asked the girls what they wanted - they said a fairy house and mushrooms so I adapted 😝). I used textas to colour it in, then I used a Stanley knife to cut out the pieces (this was by far the most time consuming part)
.
It’s a good challenge for Miss 2 at the moment so I’m hoping it gets a fair bit of use!! 😍
