Being a #homeschool mom has taught me so many things and revealed so much to me about myself. I’ve come to recognize some of the tendencies that I just need to just let go, because they are holding my children back, one of these being “perfectionism.” Not every week is easy. Not every child learns the same. I’ve learned to let my expectations and hopes not be what rules our day or week. Instead, we are taking it one day at a time and I’m learning to follow their lead. What am I seeing from this? Joy, harmony, peace, excitement, self-learning, grace and rest taking place in my home and in each of my children. Things just go a lot smoother then and learning actually takes place.
But let me also be real with you, every once in a while Daddy has to step in, because this is a family thing and mommy needs a break 😜 There are days I lose my cool, wonder if what I’m doing is sinking in, and question this calling. I’m learning to know my limits and he’s learning to know when to step in. That’s #teamwork and it’s okay to let someone else in and help. Plus, he’ll have a greater appreciate for what I do on the daily, right? 😉
