Homemade Take 5 bars are the real deal y’all. Took me 10 minutes to put together, and while they might not be the healthiest thing to have sitting around all the time, when I’m honest with myself I need to eat something super chocolate-y MINIMUM once per day. Planning ahead for my chocolate cravings saves me way more money than I would spend otherwise going out to get ice cream!
2 cups @enjoylife chocolate chips
@glutino gluten-free pretzels
Caramel sauce (homemade if you’re @inagarten, store bought if you’re me)
Peanut butter (or other nut butter)
Chopped peanuts (or other nuts)
Gently melt chocolate chips using a double boiler on the stove, or in 30 second increments in the microwave, stirring frequently. Spread half of the melted chocolate into a thin layer on a piece of wax paper. Arrange pretzels into a layer on top, placed tightly together but with no overlap. Drizzle a thin layer of caramel sauce over all the bars. Spread a thin layer of peanut butter over the bars (if it’s thick, may help to warm it up slightly). Gently press finely chopped nuts into peanut butter layer, then top with remaining melted chocolate. Refrigerate until firm. Cut into small squares and store in an airtight container in the fridge.
