I'M SO EXCITED!
I found an absolutely laden Kaffir Lime tree in my neighbourhood!!!! If you have never smelt or tasted one of these wrinkly skinned goddesses you haven't lived!
I tracked the tree down by some super sleuth work. Yesterday, whilst out walking the hound, I noticed the over ripe yellow lime in the picture in the middle of a grassy area with no Kaffir tree in sight. Hmmmmmm. So, looking about (which I have plenty of time to do as my old dog moves at the pace of a glacier) I noticed a second one a bit further off, and then a third, both very rotten and windblown, and then a forth! And from there I followed the trail across the road right up to the tree!
I only picked a few - those hanging over the fence into the lane - but there were SO MANY on the tree and hundreds rotting on the ground that I'm tempted to go back, steal myself, and knock on the door and ask for more. They mustn't know what a boon they have in their garden! I would repay in cake of course! Is that an acceptable thing to do!?
